Magic Desktop For Kids!

As a parent it’s sometimes hard to let the kids use the computer for fear of might what they might come across even with parental controls in place.I was asked to try out Magic Desktop which is basically Windows for kids with my children as a safe way for them to use my laptop without worrying what they are watching or doing something they shouldn’t like post a gobbledegook blog post – which has actually happened with my daughter, little monkey.

Magic Desktop creates a safe and stimulating environment where kids can improve their computer literacy at their own pace. Child-friendly design works perfectly with tiny hands, while our complete collection of programs keep young minds excited and engaged.

Downloading it was very quick and easy so once the kids spotted what I was up to they couldn’t wait to get involved!I’m happy to let my children use my laptop as I feel they need to have computer skills as everything seems to be based on computers these days. Not like the days where I’d be scrawling away for hours writing an essay!

There are loads of fun activities, educational games to play, videos to watch and it can even teach your child how to use a mouse. There’s the GE academy with number and colour activities and they can even colour in their own photos or make a puzzle out of them! You can choose what sites they have access too which I think is brilliant as you can let them play without having to be constantly watching over their shoulder!

Overall I’m really pleased with Magic Desktop and as you can switch back and fore really easily it’s great to let them play – after homework of course, you can even set it so they can only use it for certain times of the day or set time limits. As the parent you have access via a passcode to settings.
