Every year I find it trickier to come up with new ideas for Christmas gifts and this year is no different. Here are a few ideas that I love this year. I have also included some items that are made by my lovely blogger friends, I do love to support small business where I can. Some of the items I have been gifted and some I have bought myself.
Creative kids (and probably some adults too) will love the opportunity to design their own superheroes and then place them in stories where they can save the day. This Design Your Own Superhero Comic Book is designed to help guide users through a project to create their own comic books step by step. Activities include designing a superhero by adding costumes, special skills, powers and weapons, creating a logo for your superhero, thinking about character development (who is your superhero? Why does he/she seek justice?), planning and writing stories for them to star in, story boarding with a comic strip including creating the layout and then of course the sketching, inking and colouring needed to bring the whole thing to life.
I know my son will absolutely love this one as he really enjoys making up his own characters and drawing his own little comics so this will be perfect for him to do it properly! There’s lots to keep him amused and create his own little masterpiece.
I have bought numerous softies from Mrs A, from the Pegasus Pony and Link shown here to Groot, Mario and Luigi. They are all hand made and always given the greatest attention to detail, I’m blown away by each and every one of them. If your child has a favourite character and you fancy getting them something completely different then Tracey is the lady you need to chat to! She hasn’t turned down an idea yet and I’ve even seen her make the entire Hogwarts Express!

4. Sous Chef R2D2 and Darth Vader Bento Boxes * £19.50 and £22.50
The large Star Wars Darth Vader bento box is the only way for Star Wars film fans to take their lunch to the office, to school or on picnics. The three sections of the bento box stack together to form Darth Vader, one of the most famous and instantly recognisable sci-fi villains of all time.
The top ‘eyes’ section is an inverted bowl. The second level, with the nose and mouth section of Darth Vader’s famous mask, has a hermetic seal for storing stews or dressed salads without leaking. The bottom level features Vader’s chest panel, and is a perfect container for buns, sushi or rice. The bento box comes with an elastic band to hold all the sections in place.
Or if you’d prefer, there’s R2D2, the blue-and-white droid from the Star Wars film series. The top section is an inverted bowl. The second level has a hermetic seal for storing stews or dressed salads without leaking. The bottom level is a perfect container for buns, sushi or rice. The bento box comes with an elastic band to hold all the sections in place.
These are brilliant for packed lunches, picnics or just for putting your cereal in (as my kids begged to do).

This gorgeous bracelet is handcrafted using waxed cotton cord, purple dragonfly bead (which is lead safe, nickle safe and cadmium safe zinc based alloy silver)and finished with a sliding macramé knot and silver coloured beads. Hugs (Helping U Get Support) was started after Lisa’s own experience of mental illness and how little support there is out there. After seeing how many creative people there are out there Lisa wanted to build a place to showcase their talent, build the confidence their illness strips them of, and educate friends and family of sufferers to be supportive. Not only are you getting a beautiful bracelet you’re supporting others self care and recovery.
