Review | Thames & Kosmos Ooze Labs Slime

*Contains gifted items.

The Picking Up Toys children love to make and play with slime and we were asked if we would like to try out these new Thames & Kosmos Ooze Labs ones, here we show you the Glow In The Dark version. You can see the Glitter version in one of our Youtube videos here.

Each of these cool slimes comes in it’s own test tube shaped container which make these so very easy to make and contain the mess that is usually associated with slime making.

In the pack

  • Test Tube
  • Slime Powder
  • Stirring Stick
  • Instruction Leaflet
  • Cardboard Strip

How to make

Take the cardboard strip, fold it round and insert it into the lid of the test tube in order to make a stand for the test tube to sit in.

Pop the test tube into the stand.

Inside the instruction leaflets is a measuring guide for how much water you need, which is 9cm or 75ml to help your child to measure out the exact amount needed to make the slime as they would with an experiment.

Pour in the water.

Next open the slime packet (you will need scissors) and pour it into the water, telling your child to be careful not to get the powder in their eyes or mouth.

Once all the powder is added, use the stirring stick to give it a good stir.

When the powder is all mixed in, put the lid on and give it a shake. The tube can be left and shaken at regular intervals over the next 15-20 minutes.

Once set, you can remove the slime from it’s tube…

…and have some fun with it.

If you hold it under a light source and then pop into a dark cupboard it will glow!

What we thought

These experiment style slime tubes are brilliant in our opinion. The mess is minimal, this is a HUGE plus for parents and they literally take minutes to set up and even the shaking bit is fun if they make up a song to go with it. It’s fascinating to make the slime and found out what it can do, each one is a different kind of experiment. Each of the leaflets also tells you what’s going on and how it works.

Other slimes available are:

  • Suitable for ages 8+
  • RRP £4
  • Made from safe materials
