Have you tried CBD oil? It’s very popular at the moment and there are ads for it everywhere, when I was offered the chance to try it I had absolutely no idea what to expect at all. The oil I tried is from Synerva.
Synerva CBD Oils, based in Bramhall, the brain-child of mum-of-two Clare Hales, 42, is heading for turnover in excess of £100,000 in the first year of business.
From her husband’s intensive care bedside, a Cheshire mum founded her legal cannabis e-commerce business and is now aiming to drive quality, safety and traceability across the industry.
Clare, previously a Key Account Manager at Kraft Foods, wanted to return to work after her time away to raise her young family, but always wanted to do something she was truly passionate about and CBD oils is now just that.
After a cycling accident that left Clare’s husband Jason, also 42, with critical injuries including a broken back, she turned to cannabidiol (CBD oil) to change his recovery prognosis and the results launched a new business venture for the whole family.
“For some time, my brother Neil had been showing and telling us both about the benefits and life-changing properties of CBD oil, we had both given it a bit of a brush-off until the accident. Jason finally asked me to bring him some CBD oil and to give it a try as he was slowly recovering from the operation, we were both fairly skeptical, but the outcomes were mind-blowing and resulted in a life-changing few weeks for us all.”
About CBD oil
CBD (Cannabidiol) is a cannabinoid found in the cannibis plant. The body produces endocannabinoids, which are neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors in your nervous system. When you ingest CBD oils the CBD interacts directly with the receptors in your body, stimulating the endocannabinoid system.
CBD can be used for an array of health reasons and can help with:
- Hormone production
Does it get you high?
No. Synerva CBD oils do not contain THC – this is the psychoactive component – the one that recreational users use to get “high”. This means it is completely legal to be used as a food supplement in the UK. It’s naturally rich in Terpenes, Flavonoids and essential Amino Acids. It’s grown in Colorado USA using 100% organic farming methods.
What I thought
For the purpose of this review I was sent a 10ml bottle of 10% / 1000mg CBD oil. It comes in a small bottle with a dropper to make dosage easy. This also means a little goes a long way.
You start off slow and build up, so I started by using one drop under the tongue morning and night. Now I’m going to be completely and utterly honest here and say it tastes absolutely vile, although as time goes on you do get semi used to it. If you do find it intolerable you could try the other products such as the Peppermint CBD Oil , Gummies or Capsules. I plan to try the Peppermint one when I buy my next lot, yes I said buy my next lot because I am going to keep using it. Over the next 2 weeks I increased the drops to 2 each morning and night and found this was perfect for me and stuck at it.
Initially I took it hoping it would help with pain, I have had a problem with my hip for a number of years that has got much, much worse in recent months. I went in without high hopes as I really hadn’t spoken to anyone who had tried it so I had no idea what to expect, I wouldn’t say it took away the pain BUT what I did find it had a great effect on was my anxiety and this in turn makes it easier to cope with the pain. I worry a lot about not being able to do things with my children because it leaves me in agony but I found I wasn’t worrying and over analysing so much.
During the time I started using the CBD oil I had just started a new job and I felt calmer and not so panicky and terrified as I would normally when doing something so completely out of my comfort zone. In fact family members – who I hadn’t told I was trying it – noticed the difference. Especially my Mum who knows that driving somewhere I don’t know really sets my anxiety sky high and she noticed I was nowhere near as bad as previously. I would recommend trying it to anyone who is thinking about it, you never know, it may just help!
