Exante Diet Week 1

I’ll start this post by saying it isn’t sponsored in any way, I chose this diet plan myself and paid for it.

I want to lose weight, it’s literally that simple and I’ve suddenly found myself in the right headspace to get on with it. I’ve spoken about my weight before here, I am sick of being in pain with chronic hip condition and I want to see if losing a few pounds will help. I spent an evening looking up diets and healthy eating and kept coming back to Exante. I want a good start because many times I’ve tried, not lost anything in the first week and given up in disappointment. This time I am determined that I am going to stick it out and get to my goal weight.

If you haven’t heard of Exante they offer a huge range of meal replacement options which include bars, shakes, soups and more that are a complete nutritional substitute for traditional food . All containing 27 vitamins & minerals, high in protein and low carb.

Exante Diet Plans 

Exante 800: An 800 calorie total meal replacement diet plan for fast, visible and effective weight loss.

Exante 1200: A 1200 calorie diet perfect if you want steady weight loss or to maintain your goal.

Exante 5:2: An intermittent fasting plan, with 2 fasting days per week.

The plan I chose

After reading about all the different plans I have chosen to try the Exante 800 plan. This is a Very Low Calorie Diet or VLCD and involves substituting 3 meals a day for Exante products and then eating a healthy meal from their suggestions such as lean chicken breast with greens or a 4th product depending on what you fancy. 

What I bought

I had a look at the offers page to see which would suit me best and plumped (heh) for the 100 meal replacements for £99 with the code 99pmeal that ends on the 31st July 2020. If I’m going to do it I might as well go all in was my thinking. I chose all 100 items myself from the wide range, ordering a mixture of bars, shakes, desserts, pancakes and savoury meals. I placed my order and paid and I was extremely surprised and pleased to find it arrived the very next day in a huge box packed chock full of my items!

Things I particularly enjoyed 

Chocolate Shake. It’s a chocolate flavour shake. What’s not to like?

Chocolate Coconut Bar, I’m a huge fan of coconut so this is amazing! Chewy and coconutty and covered in chocolate.

Cinnamon Porridge. This was really lovely to set me up for the morning with a lovely sweet cinnamon kick.

Maple Syrup Pancakes. I adore pancakes at any time of year and I was really surprised to see that they were included in a diet plan as I usually have them smothered in sugar & lemon or golden syrup. These cooked exactly as a normal one would, was super easy to do just by adding water and tasted great. They seemed more dense and had a bit more chew than a standard pancake but I enjoy them.

How much I lost

I was really pleased with this, I did make a few mistakes during my first week, I ate some fruit a few of the days not realising that I shouldn’t have due to the natural sugars. Thankfully the meal replacements contain all the vitamins and minerals you need so there’s no need to worry about missing out. So this week I will be sticking to it to the letter and we’ll see how I get on! The only downside I could mention is the dodgy windy  tummy I got for the first few days, appears this is a common side effect though. It luckily seems to have settled now. I wasn’t constantly starving which was something I had prepared myself for in fact I sometimes struggled to get the fourth meal in so it is satisfying. I just need to remember to drink more water as I don’t really enjoy the taste of water I’m thinking of ordering some of the Water Enhancers to improve the taste.
