These are 200 ml juice packs with a plastic wrapped straw to the back. Featuring characters from the Nickleodeon cartoon Paw Patrol. We tried both orange and apple flavours which went down a treat, with the apple being the winner. The sweetness of the drinks comes from the fruit & Stevia (a healthy sweet leaf replacement for sugar or artificial sweeteners). The apple version has red/green & golden apples plus Stevia and the orange version has apples, oranges and Stevia. Just the right amount to quench a thirst, the children really enjoyed them.

Peppa Pig Tropical Juice Drinks

These are 200ml juice boxes with a plastic wrapped straw attached to the back featuring characters from the Peppa Pig cartoon.  We got the tropical flavour which contains Apple, orange, passion fruit, mango, apricot, pineapple and Stevia. Again these were well received and I’m reliably informed that the technical term is “Yummy”.

Lottie Dolls Review & Giveaway

Sugar and spice and all things nice, that’s what little girls are made of. Outdated now that rhyme isn’t it? My daughter is all those things but much, much, more. She loves to climb trees, jump off high objects and regularly comes home with skinned knees. Lottie dolls from Arklu are different in that they are all about letting children be children, all inclusive and belong regardless of race, gender ethnicity or ability. There’s also a chance to win a doll for yourself so read on!

We were sent a lovely Lottie Robot Doll and Busy Lizzie The Robot accessory set to play with and we were very excited to try them out.

Lottie Robot Doll

Comes with:

  • Detailed atomic hoodie
  • Long sleeved robot t-shirt
  • Denim jeans
  • Sneakers
  • Cap
  • A pair of glasses

Busy Lizzie The Robot

Comes with:

  • Busy Lizzie robot
  • 1 extra pair of robot arms
  • 1 hairpiece
  • 1 frying pan
  • 1 spatula
  • 1 extra pair of shoes
  • 1 sheet of transparent stickers

The dolls and indeed the accessories come in lovely brightly coloured  packaging with  the particular dolls story. In our case with the box tells us that Lottie is using items from her messy bedroom to make a robot – Busy Lizzie.

The doll stands at 19 inches and has moveable arms and legs, long blonde hair and the hat and glasses can be removed. The robots arms and shoes can be changed and something we thought was fab was that the doll and the robot can share the shoes! I love that the doll has an age appropriate body (9 year old) and doesn’t wear any make-up. Most dolls these days are unrealistic with odd body shapes and faces full of make-up. As you can see the they were a hit with my daughter!

Robot Girl costs £18.99 and Busy Lizzie The Robot £9.50. Both recommended for age 3+

We also love the look of the Raising the Bar Gymnastics Outfit  as my daughter loves to go to gymnastics and the different dolls including Boys .

Og On The Bog Review & Giveaway

Og on the Bog is a fun electronic game from Drumond Park. We were given the chance to try it out and let’s be honest what kid doesn’t love anything to do with toilet humour and farts? Stay with us as there’s a chance to win a copy for yourselves at the end!

og-on-the-bog-electronic-game-box-front

The initial thought after we’d opened the box was how refreshing it is that there is very little ‘putting together’ required, some games take ages while the kids moan and get bored but this one took only a few minutes. This is because as you can see below there are very few parts.

The box contains:

  • Og himself on his Bog
  • 12 Loo Rolls
  • Loo Roll pole and base
  • Tree stump spinner

The only assembly required is for you to close the walls of the bog by lifting the front and back walls first then the sides, put the loo roll pole and base together and attach it to the side of the bog and there are also 3 AA batteries required which are not included. We also keep a stash handy though before switching it on via the switch on the bottom.

Each person starts with 1 loo roll each, with the youngest player going first – pleased my daughter no end that did – then spin the spinner to see the outcome.

  • A red cross means you’ve been noisy and miss a turn.
  • Hand holding a loo roll means you can pinch a loo roll from another player
  • A green tick means you can try and a steal a loo roll from Og’s loo roll pole.

To steal a loo roll you need to push down the step on the front of the Bog, if he says anything he has heard you so you runaway and your turn is over. If he grunts or farts however it means he hasn’t heard you so you can attempt to lift a loo roll off the pole, whilst lifting it off if you move too much he shouts out again and you have to leave the lo roll on the pole. Again if he grunts or farts you haven’t been heard and get to keep the loo roll.

If Og does a monster fart and his Bog explodes during your turn then you need to put two of your loo rolls back onto the pole and finish your turn, raising the walls of Og’s bog so that you can carry on playing.

To win the game with 2/3 players the first to collect 4 loo rolls wins and with 4 players the first to collect 3 loo rolls wins.

I played the game with my son and daughter who found the noises coming from Og absolutely hilarious. There was a tiny bit of sulking from my daughter when her brother wanted to take her loo rolls but it’s all the fun of the game. Once the Bog explodes the first time it really makes you jump so you’re on giggly high alert waiting for it to go again. As you can imagine the sounds coming from the Bog are hilarious and Og says things such as “is that someone after my loo rolls” and “Who’s that? I’ll have you for supper” which the kids thought was brilliant.

Drumond-Park-Og-On-The-Bog

Overall this was a definite hit for us, it’s hilarious, easy to play and although the box states 5+ I made the decision that my soon to be 5 year old was ok to play it and of course that meant I had to play with them for supervision purposes 😉

Og on the Bog is rrp £22.99 suitable for age 5+ and for 2-4 players.

BIC Colouring Review & Giveaway

When I was contacted by BIC with an offer to review some of their products it didn’t take me long to say yes as the kids had ‘accidentally’ put some coloured BIC pens in the trolley on a shopping trip earlier that day so I knew they would be very happy to help me review! We received a pack of BIC kids Ecolutions Evolution colouring pencils and a pack of Conte felt pens. There’s a chance to win a set of both at the end of this post. BIC is a household name that started with the iconic Crystal pen in 1950 and now has a huge range of products.

BIC-kids-ecolutions-evolution-pencils-conte-felt-pens

The Ecolution Evolution colouring pencils came as a pack of 12 (there are also packs of 18 & 24 available) and contained all the colours you would expect for children to happily  colour with. They’re wood free and made from 50% recycled materials and are very strong, so if your children are like mine and are a bit rough sometimes then you know they won’t snap and splinter. They sharpen well without any rough bits like some of the cheaper pencils we have bought in the past. Each pencil is embossed with gold lettering and makes them look very professional.

BIC-Kids-Ecolution-Evolution-colouring-pencils-12-pack

The Conte felt pens came in a metal tin of 10 (also available in 20) brightly coloured thin tipped felts. The nibs are very strong so when the kids go all out colouring their masterpiece you don’t have to worry about them being pushed in. They can also last for up to 3 months (wow) without the lids on although they do come with lids that click on to keep them properly. They’re made from water based ink which means they wash out because someone ALWAYS draws on something they shouldn’t don’t they?! It wiped clean from the kitchen table easily.

BIC-conte-felt-pens-tin

As you can see the kids had a great time trying them out, tongue out for concentration. All the best artists do that don’t they? They are both just the right thickness for drawing Minecraft characters that my son is obsessed with currently!

Overall I was really impressed with the quality of both sets and the children have continued to use both since we opened them. The Conte set I think would also make a lovely present for someone who enjoys adult colouring as the tin they come in is lovely.
